Fugitive Son Sought for Brutal Stabbing Death of Father in Rocky Point


ROCKY POINT, N.Y. — Suffolk County police are searching for a 23-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his father at their Rocky Point residence on Saturday.

Homicide Squad detectives identified Matthew Zoll as the suspect in the killing of his father, Joseph Zoll. The incident occurred on November 9, police said, and Matthew Zoll has since been wanted in connection with the stabbing. Authorities have not provided further details about the events leading up to the fatal attack.

Police described Matthew Zoll as white, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a small scar beneath his left eye. Investigators believe he does not have access to a vehicle, which could limit his range of travel.


Suffolk County police are urging the public to assist in locating Zoll. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911, the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
