Man fatally shot in Bronx, police investigation ongoing


NEW YORK — A 32-year-old man was shot and killed early Monday morning in the Bronx, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 7:27 a.m. reporting a man shot near University Avenue and Brandt Place, within the confines of the 46th Precinct. Upon arrival, police found the man unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his torso.

Emergency medical services transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.


The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death. The identification of the deceased is pending notification of his family.
