Man Killed in Pennsylvania Excavator Mishap


STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 52-year-old man was killed in a workplace accident in Stowe Township when an excavator tipped over, striking him with its bucket, authorities said. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the incident after receiving a call from County 9-1-1 at approximately 11:19 a.m. on Friday.

First responders arrived at the 2200 block of Robinson Boulevard, where they found the victim deceased at the scene. According to preliminary findings, the man was struck by the bucket of the excavator as it overturned. Detectives determined that there was no foul play involved in the incident.

The investigation has since been turned over to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which will conduct a thorough review to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal accident.
