Man seriously injured in robbery after being struck by car at Newark gas station


NEWARK, DELA AR. A guy was purposefully hit by a car at a Shell gas station in Newark on Tuesday night, resulting in a violent robbery that left him seriously injured. Delaware State Police are looking into the incident.

The event happened at the gas station at 380 East Chestnut Hill Road at approximately 6:45 p.m. According to investigators, a red passenger automobile rushed toward and struck a 38-year-old guy who was strolling across the parking lot.

The driver struck the victim, got out of the car, took the man’s money, and ran away. The person is receiving treatment for severe injuries after being taken by EMS to a nearby hospital.

Although no security footage or other information about the car has been made public, police have identified the suspect as a white male. There is no continuing threat to the public, according to authorities, who believe this was an isolated incident.
