Three Charged for Mob Attack Outside Virginia Sheetz

STAFFORD, Va. — A man and his two passengers were arrested early Saturday morning following a disturbance and alleged assault at a Sheetz convenience store on Garrisonville Road, according to authorities.

Stafford County deputies responded to the store, located at 1175 Garrisonville Road, around 12:41 a.m. on November 9, after receiving reports of a fight. Investigators determined that the incident began when Troy Lovett, 37, of Dumfries, parked erratically, hitting a bollard in the parking lot. His two passengers allegedly stole approximately $40 worth of merchandise before the trio fled in Lovett’s vehicle.

However, the group returned shortly after, with Lovett again parking at an odd angle. During their second visit, the three allegedly assaulted store employees, resulting in minor injuries, before leaving the scene once more.

Deputies J.J. Holetzky and X.D. Bates located Lovett’s vehicle on Bryant Boulevard in the Vista Woods area and conducted a traffic stop. Lovett, who was reportedly intoxicated, was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI (second offense within five years), driving on a suspended license, and refusal to submit to a test. Lovett was also charged with felony child neglect, as a juvenile was reportedly in the vehicle, and assault by mob. He is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

A 22-year-old female passenger was also charged with assault by mob, petit larceny, public intoxication, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
